252 Grizzly/Human Encounters in Greater Yellowstone Area
There were a total of 252 encounters between grizzly bears and humans reported in the greater Yellowstone National Park area last year — fewer than the previous year, but more than double the number reported a decade ago. According to the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team, encounters ranged from bears attacking livestock and damaging property to backcountry incidents. Six people were injured by grizzlies — the same as in 2012. AP.
