$6M pot grow discovered in National Forest near Aspen
For the second time in a year, the U.S. Forest Service has found a major illegal marijuana-growing operation on lands it manages near Aspen, Colo. Alerted by hunters who smelled the crop, about a dozen Forest Service workers assisted by Drug Enforcement Administration agents removed 2,630 mature plants estimated to have a street value exceeding $6 million Wednesday and packed them out.
