About October Cover
“What Lies Beneath”
by Dallen Lambson
This month’s cover art embodies so many aspects of autumn. The first signs of fall color many times starts to appear in portions of the Lone Star State. A beautiful whitetail buck is drawn to available water for a drink. In the calm pool his reflection mirrors his own likeness as well as subtle and slightly less obvious image of the hunting season during the month of October.
Do you see the reflected archer? It’s a fun aspect of this painting, and Dallen is hoping the success of this image this will lead to a series of similar paintings using different big game animals.
“What Lies Beneath” is available as an artist proof edition, paper print only. The image size is 24”x16”.
