Every hunter in Texas has been waiting for September’s arrival. Doves capture most of the attention of wingshooters, but there is a small army of waterfowl hunters that eagerly look forward to the early teal season. The date for the 16 day teal season is September 13 – 28.
Scot Storm’s original acrylic painting entitled “Cattails and Blue Wings II” captures a trio of these speedy, early arriving ducks. “The natural coloration of blue-winged teal almost blends into the blues and browns of the stormy sky, and wispy cattail reeds, however depicted in a vertical format from a lower angle these birds become a vibrant part of the scene,” the artist commented. The vertical image measures 6” x 12”.
