ADAM GRIMM WINS 2013 FEDERAL DUCK STAMP CONTEST
The 2014-2015 Federal Duck Stamp will reproduce the oil painting of a canvasback created by Adam Grimm, an Ohio native now living in Burbank, S.D. Grimm also had his art appear on the 2000-2001 Federal Duck Stamp. The stamp will go on sale in late June 2014, selling for $15 and raising an anticipated $25 million, critical funds to conserve and protect wetland habitats in the National Wildlife Refuge System. The annual duck stamp art contest is the only juried art competition sponsored by the federal government.
Texas artist Calvin Carter, in his first Federal Duck Stamp Contest placed fourth out of 202 entries. Carter’s work has been feature several times on the cover of TEXAS OUTDOORS JOURNAL.
