Montana’s new roadkill law a big hit in its first year

A new law that permits Montanans to harvest roadkill has proven enormously successful, with more than 800 game animals removed from the highways for human consumption in its first year. “…Folks need to remember is that you can’t kill an animal, you can’t finish an animal off that you’ve hit or someone else has hit…so you call an officer and get them to come out and do that,” said Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks spokesperson John Fraley.
