Public Meeting Scheduled Tuesday to Discuss Big Tree Natural Area
ROCKPORT— The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will hold a meeting next week to collect public input for the development of new facilities at Big Tree Natural Area at Goose Island State Park. The natural area is an 80-acre site that expands the existing location of the famous “Big Tree.”
The meeting is open to the public and will take place from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Education Center of the Aquarium at Rockport Harbor, 706 Navigation Cir., Rockport, TX, 78382.
Initial plans will be presented at the meeting and staff will collect public input for new recreational facilities at Big Tree Natural Area. Maps showing the proposed facilities and recreational use will be available for viewing. Following the presentation, TPWD officials will hold a question and answer period regarding the plans for the area.
TPWD encourages the public to share opinions and ideas and ask questions during this phase of the project, whether in person or via email. Feedback will be accepted until April 1 and can be directed to:
