April is one of the best months of the year to catch not only numbers of black bass, but also numbers of bass in Texas.  Some parts of the Lone Star State will experience the last of the spring spawn.  In most other lakes bass will be in a post-spawn pattern but regardless of where fishing, the action will be concentrated around shallow structure.

Popular artist Dallen Lambson’s “Strike Force” captures an early morning scene when the light in the sky, water and surrounding shoreline vegetation are at their most colorful best.  A solid largemouth inhales a tried and true purple worm, and then busts the water’s surface going airborne when reality of being hook sets in.  That is when the fight begins and memories are mad.
