About the March 2025 Cover
This month is the end of the annual ShareLunker Legacy Class Collection Period. Since January 1 bass anglers have focused on catching an over 13-pound or larger class bass. March is one of the best months to accomplish this task.
However, with the spawning of many bass complete there will be post-spawn fish that recover from the period and stage for the next phase of a bass’ life-cycle. Many times, when one post-spawn bass is found others will also there.
Popular wildlife and sporting artist, plus regular TOJ Cover Art contributor Dallen Lambson’s “Hittin’ It Hard” has capture such a scene. Congragated around woody structure several big bass are staged. When a crankbait is thrown close, maybe even bousing off the submerged timber one lunker breaks for the bait thinking its an easy meal. Once hooked up the battle ensues.
This is a great time of year to tangle with truly a bass of a lifetime. This is true whether a spawning sow or a big post-spawn fish.
