Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour Returns to Austin, Benefits Texas State Parks
AUSTIN – The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour will return to Austin and the historic Paramount Theatre on April 27-28. This is the 17th year that Whole Earth Provision Co. has hosted the tour in Austin and the 12th year that Texas State Parks has been the beneficiary of the event. The Austin audiences are historically among the largest of the festival tour.
The films will take audiences to stunning landscapes and remote cultures and bring them up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports. The World Tour offers an exhilarating, provocative and often sublime exploration of the mountain world.
“Congratulations to our Texas State Parks for providing Texans with places of natural beauty and recreation opportunities to refresh our spirits and create treasured memories,” said Jack Jones, founder of Whole Earth Provision Co. “We hope the public will join us in supporting our state parks.”
Whole Earth combines the proceeds from the World Tour shows with the funds raised during its “April Is Texas State Park Month” event in their stores where customers can make donations. The 12-year total of funds raised by the two events is now more than $294,000.
“We appreciate Whole Earth’s ongoing commitment to Texas State Parks and their dedication to raising funds and promoting park visitation to their customers,” said Rodney Franklin, director of Texas State Parks. “It is a partnership we value very, very much.”
