As temperatures drop to user friendly levels in October, eclipsing those of summer, a flurry of outdoor activity takes place across the continent. For some their activities take place in the northern regions in pursuit of sheep residing in some of the most rugged and beautiful mountain ranges in the world.
For others, it’s time spent amidst the aspens in search of a loquacious bull elk. But to the devoted whitetail deer hunter, October in Texas represents the advent of another deer hunting season and another chance to match wits with that particular mature buck they caught only a fleeting glimpse of in the past season.
It’s a rejuvenating time as days whisk by before what most consider a national holiday — the opening day of deer hunting season.
