Illegal Hunting, Guiding Leads to $66K in Fines, Jail Time
In one of Oregon’s largest poaching operations and investigations, a Bend man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $66,050 in fines for illegally guiding and hunting on a ranch without the landowner’s knowledge. Authorites say between 2010 and 2012, Alan Roy Aronson, 43, and his accompanying hunters killed dozens of elk and bison without valid tags or landowner permission.
