Gov. Dave Heineman this morning vetoed a bill that would prohibit mountain lion hunting in Nebraska, saying the Game and Parks Commission is entrusted to manage the state’s wildlife. “Nebraskans expect responsible wildlife management,” Heineman said in a letter to lawmakers. “Removing the agency’s authority to manage mountain lions through hunting at this time is a poor public policy.” AP.
