Successful duck hunting is all about being in the right place, at the right time, with the right gear. Get those three things aligned and the chances of having a memorable hunt increase dramatically.
The easiest way to chalk up a good duck hunt is to hire a guide. But for the most overall satisfaction duck hunting boils down to a do-it-yourself adventure. If you’ve never hired a duck guide you are missing out on a laid back experience. Basically you show up, do what the guide says, sit back in the blind and shoot when told to do so. On a good hunt you have a passel of birds to take home. Conversely, a bad hunt will send you to the house disappointed and sorry you blew a few hundred bucks on nothing.
